Lively Historical Fiction

Lively Historical Fiction

John Thomas Everett writes the kind of stories he likes to read – colorful, fast-paced and thoughtful. His tales are driven by fresh characters who desire a principled world but live in one that is often anything but. Yet they struggle on, finding value in the effort and arming themselves with unflagging optimism and wry humor. Everett’s knack is bringing history alive by making earlier days seem modern and familiar.

Baltimore Tales

The novels speak to the unique nature of the city, its lively history and the long list of fascinating, unconventional and all-too-familiar characters that have made and continue to make Baltimore the great American city that it is. Baltimore Tales and its books are proud to be part of the Braveship Books writers consortium.

“…I started it [Plug Ugly Ball] and couldn’t put it down. You’re a great story teller. The tale of the volunteer firehouse groups interwoven with the historical figures of 19th century Baltimore leaders was truly fascinating. Although I had my challenges as Mayor, I count my blessings that I didn’t have to deal with the chaos you describe regarding the Plug Uglies and their rivals…I will recommend your novel to others I know who share your passion for Baltimore history and baseball…I’m sure students and faculty will enjoy the fast paced and unpredictable story that you’ve written… All the best to you. I hope the book gets wide circulation for it is certainly deserving of high praise.”
